Well we are on Cape Hatteras after a beautiful drive through the Alligator River Wildlife refuge. Saw many different animals including deer, turkeys, turtles and huge vultures, no alligators though. Didn’t do any tourist attractions as planned because the weather was so beautiful we wanted to take advantage of the clear sky and sun. The prediction is rain for Sunday so we will do the museums and lighthouses then. Campsite is about 75 feet from the dunes then ocean. Spent the biggest part of the day on the beach getting suntanned or burned. Temps in the 80’s. Not many people on day one but since KOA offered a free night with a scheduled night the campground filled up by 7 pm last night. Went for a moonlight walk on the beach around 11 pm. Didn’t feel real, kind of dreamlike and too perfect.

This morning just lounging around and enjoying the good weather.
